As other alert readers may have noticed and Steven Conway has brought to my
attention, the
sequence 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 is not an example of a
seven-year sequence of non-leap years: the centurial year 2000 is divisible
by 400, and it is thus a leap year.
The sequences 1897, . . . , 1903 and 2197, . . . , 2203 are instances of
seven successive non-leap years.
