Please educate me further: The allocation of an existing dataset has to verify the dataset exists, by reading the VTOC to verify its existence, and since DATASET NOT FOUND errors occur prior to LOADTIME (i.e., during allocation, and before program load), I don't understand how the read of the VTOC for the DSCB can occur after the end of allocation. Especially since a DATA SET NOT FOUND errors doesn't have a LOADTIME event.
