Guess I'd go for more of a macro level  approach first.
 
1)Open a PMR with IBM. They may be able to  suggest remedial maint.
 
2)Look at the rudimentary RMF(or RMFPP)  reports for channels and
 controllers %Busy. May be that doing the  conversion that the PROD config  
lost paths.
