Looks like HCD TEST result answered your question. Since you're not
deleting anything, I'd trust that result.
Well... I don't trust the results <g>
I understand TEST answers as :
1. Failure. You cannot do it.
2. Success. You can TRY.
your right - a successful test doesn't always guarantee a successful
activation!! i.e. pinned UCBs
In fact, in my case I bet the activation would fail, however I don't
know other results. Reason of my expectation: no LPAR profile was
present for new LPAR. No partition ID, no memory assignment. I doub if
"plug and play" wizard woul do it for me. <g>
Now I prepared LPAR profile on HMC, but still feel some fear...
However, I doubt a missing LPAR profile is a reason for the activation to fail... Yes, you need one
to activate the partition, but the IODF activate will work just fine without one. Prior to reserved
Lpars (*), it was a little difficult to create the profile as CEC didn't even know about the LPAR!
