It is up to each one how to mark parts of his/her/it mail. For example a very 
well known and favourite trainer's post is like this:

<ad>
  training info
</ad>

(Note the FORWARD slash)

Or another one:

<joke>
  Or power down the z9, remove the book, remove some DIMM chips and put it 
  in your child's PC - games need a lot of RAM
</joke>
