All mine have no CUADD in the report I just ran.

I received the following question this morning :

We are busy installing a SL8500 ATL with STK 10000 drives

TST1 *Control Unit List *                 Row 9 of 161

Command ===> _______________________________________________ Scroll ===> CSR

Select one or more control units, then press Enter. To add, use F11.

                           ---#---

/ CU Type + CUADD CSS MC Serial-# + Description

Only *0600* goes online (CUADD is 0) but if we use a Gen with no CUADD numbers, then all of the drives are online.

According to my understanding, we need a CUADD for every controller on the FICON

If we change the CUADD of 0600 to 1, then it also does not work.

We connect the FICON from the CPU, to a switch and all the control units are on the other side of the switch
