info in the TDQ, and writes it to the JES Queue. Once there we use MacKinney's JQP product to send it on its way to IP Printers. This is the cheapest way we found to write CICS to IP Printers. The only VTAM we have left is the minimum to run zOS. >> In the CICS Application Programmers Guide it shows how to write to SPOOL directly. There's pluses and minuses. One group found it useful in that they could specify FORMDEF, PAGEDEF to do the AFP stuff that they were used to. Another group didn't like it and were just doing text reports so we ended up using the LUMAP to transmogrify IP to VTAM. The printers have gotten smarter and can service just about any request-properly configured. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
