Hello List, In our disaster recovery testing we would like to have the production tapes from our VTS available as read only, to prevent overwriting the data. We set the MASTEROVERWRITE option of DFRMM to ADD so that DISP=OLD will create a new file instead of overwriting the production version, however DISP=MOD will destroy production data no matter we use LAST or ADD... Another media category / VPOOL should be available read/write for saving the smf and log data at the end of the DR test. The VTS is shared with the production lpar. We have a separate network to do test DR's in which case both the DR lpar and the production lpar are active together, so we can't put the library in read only mode because it would also effect production. I've been looking at the TAPEVOL class in RACF to make full taperanges read only in DR testing, but since we have TAPEAUTHDSN=YES active in DEVSUP it pretty much ignores the TAPEVOL class. Does anybody have suggestions on how we could achieve this?
