To be just a little contrary Tim PLEASE again consider to cite
references within the IBM.COM domain instead of third parties or just
post for the full text of the announcement by email. In many large
corporate environments your idea of relatively open Internet access is
not the norm. Since most of the people at this corporation including
me are not directly involved with corporate finances it could be argued
the site is correctly classified as General News or Investing and
blocked for most associates. It is a nuisance but as an IBM employee I
expect it would not be hard for you to reference documents with IBM.COM
your own companies web sites.

You might want to lobby for unblocking biz.yahoo.com since that's the
financial news section of Yahoo!, and they do have unique content from
time to time (though not on this occasion). Better yet, if the "powers
that be" are going to put in any "blocks" (ahem), then it'd be a good
idea to be more selective (e.g. mail.yahoo.com only if that's their
intent).
The biz.yahoo.com pages will have not only information on GEICO but also
news and stories -- sometimes unique news and stories -- about your
competitors, suppliers, and customers. In other words, I can't figure
out any business reason for blocking access to that information -- quite
the contrary. Heck, it says "biz" in the URL. :-)
