Yes, but I thought I remembered him saying he was running 1.7 the other day.  I 
probably should have said 1.6 or higher.

z/OS 1.6 requires z/Architecture.

z/OS 1.5 can only run in z/Architecture mode on a z/Architecture 
capable processor.  It can run in ESA mode only on G5 or G6.

z/OS 1.1 through 1.4 can run in ESA mode on z/Architecture hardware 
only with a special offering for a limited length of time.
