That's looking like the problem Dave, it is set to 47476. I change it and give it a shot.

For 3390s it should read Default Device Geometry : Bytes/track . . . . . : 56664 Tracks/cylinder . . . : 15 If it reads Bytes/track 48K, SMS will adjust the allocation required. I was using an IO generator that was creating 11 cylinder data sets on the volume. It was getting an IEC070I 209-220. The same job worked fine on a non-SMS volume. I did further testing where I would use IDCAMS to define and load records via REPRO to the file. On the SMS managed volume, I had to specify CYLINDERS(13 0) to get 11 cylinders allocated. This was not true on the non-SMS managed volume. Can anyone provide some insight as to why SMS needs the extra two cylinders? Any help would be greatly appreciated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
