This beta is far better than previous betas, and is actually good enough to allow GCC to self-compile under it. Obviously there's still a lot lacking, but that is at least one real-world task that PDOS/390 can do. And it does it with the natural filenames that GCC uses by default too. A lot of people downloaded the previous beta, but no reports of anyone successfully using it on real iron. It should be in with a shot at working on real iron so long as a telnet connection is used (ie it doesn't support 3270 currently). BFN.
