Thanks to all who replied. The easiest would be if I could have used VLF/DLF without having to write an application. I am changing the PDS to a PDSE. The problem of going to VIO is that the jobs accessing the dataset run very quickly with massive amounts of them (thousands) each hour. VIO would work for long running jobs which these are not. Changing the format to a PDSE I'm not sure where to expect to see the difference. I used GTF with SSCH to map the SEEKA addresses and if the directory is cached I think I will see the same number of SSCH SEEKA but they will be satisfied without going to the device? Anyway to keep on topic DLF/VLF in this case were no help... Thanks again... MXI rocks :)
