If you're going to process it with BLP the label doesn't matter, so why not use some random, non-duplicate label on your tapemap? I assume it's a manual mount.

I am trying to read a 3490 tape that is the duplicate of a VOLSER in our tape library. I am using the CBT program TAPEMAP to try to find out what is on this tape. I am using a generic VOLSER=TAPMAP with BLP specified and UNIT=3490. TAPEMAP works fine for any VOLSER that does not already exist in our ATL. When I mount the tape on a 3490 drive with the volser that is duplicated in the tape library, I get the following messages: EDG4048I VOLUME 300007 REJECTED. MOUNTED VOLUME DOES NOT EQUAL REQUESTED VOLUME EDG4005E VOLUME 300007 ON 0691 REJECTED FOR USE BY SYS08MAP, TAPEMAP, SYSUT1 Is there any EASY way to read this tape on the 3490 drives?
