IMHO it also depends on HDD capacity.
The other option is to create "standard" (sometimes meant as max. # of
cylinders) giving the remaining space to "category B" volumes. Cat. B
volumes can be assigned to non-critical functions, because it could be
more cumbersome to do full-volume copy operations (volume dump, FC,
PPRCs, XRC).
BTW: AFAIK some copy services on ESS 800 (like FlashCopy or PPRC) are
limited to "mod-27", aren't they ?
