Using ICETOOL with only 2 steps: Sort input in opposite order key taking n
first output records; then, sort result file again.

Sort can get a record count but I'm not sure how you would use that count for
your need.

Subject: 2nd question about SORT: only taking the last n records into SORTOUT

hi all,

does any of you have a recommendation on advising SORT to only take the last n
records into SORTOUT.

problem is, for STARTREC=xxx you would need to know the resulting total number
in advance.

best, many thanks!
stephen
