Howard, I've been reading these comments all along. If I try to read the tea leaves, something I don't do too often, I'd surmise that maybe you have some sort of ill will regarding your old employer, and that this is a contorted method to kind of "stick-it-to-them" by warding off prospective replacements. I can understand filling in a close friend also in the business as a possible favor to the friend(I'd do that too) to not go there, but why would you care if a total stranger took a job at this place? I think this has more to do with getting back at the ex-employer for some reason. I may be way off base, but I've been around long enough that not many people are that altruistic on issues like this.
