Probably more. Have you submitted a requirement on this? If I write an
ISPF application that writes a file that might be empty, I'll be
forced to include special case logic for empty input.

Don't know. I would guess yes, but then I also guessed that the LMPUT
wasn't really required.

Yes, I believe that you can do a STOW immediately after the OPEN. I
don't have a system to try it on.
