S/370 included a clear-reset function that cleared storage. Is that
what you're thinking of?


On our 360-65 you could set some of the front panel switches (to long
ago to remember which) and push start to clear core. I think this set
the address of a "ROM" routine. I assume other 360's had similar
functions.
