For the disaster situation, VDR would be updating HSM to correct the volser and label information. It's a can process they do, so you just need the time for it to run. We have not tried this yet since we have a replicated VTL. The VDR is the "plan B" if we lose both primary and replicated recovery sites and we are still learning.
