Judith, OpenTech Systems VDR product will allow you to stack many HSM 3490 tapes on one 3590. At DR, the 3590's would be unstacked into another virtual tape library while updating the MCDS. Don

I actually thought about that, but I think that would not be possible since HSM is controlling the tapes and not CA1. I am in the process testing the tape copy to get the alternate volume to native 3590.
