According to the documentation, what TapeCopy does for HSM tapes is set them up so that the logical tape can be restored back into a VTS at the DR site. TapeCopy then updates the MCDS and BCDS to change the volsers to those to which the data was just restored. We are taking OpenTECH at their word on this because we haven't gotten the hardware installed yet (this Saturday it will be). For most tape resident data, TapeCopy can either dump the data into the VTS (our plan), or it can recatalog the file (at DR) to the actual volser and file sequence on the 3592 tape. -- John McKown Senior Systems Programmer UICI Insurance Center Information Technology This message (including any attachments) contains confidential information intended for a specific individual and purpose, and its content is protected by law.
