Not enough air would get out and the heat would build up. Then, they'd take their pizza box away and POOF it would cool down. Now, don't get me started on the CDC DASD CE who climbed on top of a bank of IBM 3350's to adjust the overhead light so he could fix a CU on his string. He was rather corpulant. A lot of DCK's and one head-crash came out of that. He lost his job when he was pulling a cable from his new string (or so he thought) to connect to a PDU. What he actually had was the PDU to the wall cable. It wouldn't reach, so he gave it a reef.
