The sentence references commands, subcommands and statements but NOT records. As stated it is correct. What it is saying is that you cannot have multiple commands / subcommands on a given statement. For example: SUB; END ...is forbidden in batch TMP. (No field mark batch-equivalent to separate the subcommands unlike in VTAM/TSO in EDIT command.) As for the use of concatenation... you might try the test under JES3 in addition to JES2 before you push too hard. And you might try some different tests, too. (I was bit by the concatenation bug, whoa!, 10 years ago (yikes!) in a JCL conversion project. Bit of a pain to circumvent when they pointed me to that very documentation.) -- Tom Schmidt Madison, WI ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
