<soapbox> *Everyone* who uses SMP to any degree has a war story. The situations that degenerate into fiasco are generally exacerbated by attempts at recovery. With a good cloning regime, it quickly becomes apparent that tossing the whole environment away and starting again is a viable option. Even after some days/weeks spent on the task. The planning and install effort already expended shorten the re-run effort considerably. I do this with some regularity due to the appalling packaging practices of some of our vendors. And yes, sometimes it our end that is responsible. Regardless, if it looks like costing a day to fix, and the result might still be iffy, I'm generally want to start a new clone off in the background - if it never sees the light of day, who cares. </soapbox> Shane ... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
