>I would advise anyone very strongly against the partnership approach. It falls into the paper recovery trap that many shops including one I worked at allowed to occur in the past.
I could not agree more. I also find that the COMDISCO approach doesn't work either. I have one recovery site, and more than one customer. What happens if more than one customer gets hit by a disaster (9-11? Katrina? Other?)? Who gets the site? First? Largest? Biggest payer? More than one? None? You're too close to the storm centre! The only thing that works is true replication under YOUR control. Everything else is 'paper recovery' (I like that term, Sam!). "It's too expensive"! So is going out of business! D/R is an insurance policy. Sites, testing, back-up, recovery, procedures? They're the premium payments. As with all, you get what you paid for. - -teD I’m an enthusiastic proselytiser of the universal panacea I believe in! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
