Hello list, I have a question regarding IEC507D: I am using HSM and CA1, and the tape volumes used by HSM is protectd by expiration date, and when HSM thinks the contents of a tape volume is expired,it will notify CA1 via an exit similar to the exit used by RMM interface with HSM. However there is a problem: the data sets reside on expired volumes are not expired, they have expiration date as 99/365. When next time there is a scratch mount request, the tape volume is mounted to service the request, IEC507D will kick in. My questions are: 1.What part of operating system component issue the mesage, check the expiration data of dataset? I check the message and found it was issued by DFSMSdfp, moudle IFG0194C.
2.Why doesn't TMS(Tape management subsystem) check and issue the error mesage? Why does TMS leave the task to SMSdfp to check it? It seems TMS only checks if dataset names matches, volume status maches, volume expiration status maches, but not individual dataset expiratation status if the volume is expired via an exit or via command(like HSM's DELVOL)? 3.Is there a customized parameter in CA1 to let customer suppress the appearance of IEC507D just like EXPDTCHECK in RMM? -- Best regards, victor __________________________________________________ ¸Ï¿ì×¢²áÑÅ»¢³¬´óÈÝÁ¿Ãâ·ÑÓÊÏä? http://cn.mail.yahoo.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
