It is not!

*It is possible*. BTDT. I used such (weird in fact) configuration on HDS 9960 machine. AFAIK emulation mode is set on the interface card, so we had both 3390 emulation cards and 2105 cards.
Why ? 3390 interfaces were connected to former HDS 7700E, PPRC.
However AFAIR, it was also possible to access the devices directly from host. Caution: the same device was defined *twice* (two I/O addresses) in that case. It is impossible to define single device connected to two different CUs.
