Slashdot headlines this with "Computer Science as a Major and as a
Career" and notes the comments about voluntary attrition outpacing
India/China outsourcing, the latter reported as less than 5%.

Missouri State students get access to IBM technology
With cooperation from IBM, Missouri State University students are
getting some extra help that could put them ahead when competing in
the technology-driven global workplace.
IBM will give the Springfield university access to a range of IBM
software, hardware and services valued at about $5 million.
The access is being granted as part of IBM’s Academic Initiative, a
two-year-old program designed to better prepare students to become
leaders in the technology and business industry.
Through this program, offered at about 1,900 universities and
colleges around the world, students will get experience working with
the latest software in use at businesses. Instructors will get
assistance from IBM technology specialists in developing the
curriculum for the coursework in various areas.
“Nationwide, as jobs advance and the industry becomes in greater need
of workers with a higher skill level, the demand for graduates like
this is on the uptick,” said Scott Cook, IBM spokesman for the
Midwestern region. “What is in it for IBM is getting undergrads
smarter about technology. So when they come out, they have the skills
needed today.”
