I find it is still useful to know vi because of those times that I am remotely logged in. Console-based editors can be much faster in that situation. Also, most folks I know who use vi (and that's quite a few) actually do their best to get vim. This is a version of vi that is friendlier, does syntax highlighting, code function folding, splits the screen between multiple files, and lots of other stuff. I use it on Windows because I can't stand notepad. http://www.vim.org If you dare :-) Wade Curry Sr. Implementation Mgr AT&T Services, Inc. o _ _ _ _o /\_ _ \\o (_)\__/o (_) _< \_ _>(_) (_)/<_ \_| \ _|/'\/ (_)>(_) (_) (_) (_) (_)' _\o_ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
