but watch out for the dreaded line wrap! My bottom line: too <bleep>
expensive! If I'm reading that page correctly, it is $5,500 per year,
per user. If you want a "floating license"(?) it is $9,900 per year per
"floating" user. I think the difference is that the first is a license
assigned to a specific user (like Joe Programmer) which cannot be used
by Alice Analyst. The second is a license which can be used by either
Joe or Susan, but not at the same time. I, personally, hate "floating"
licenses. Where I've worked, people tend to "fight" over them. And
management tends to view them as "nice" because they "reduce cost". IOW
if you have 10 programmers, only buy (for instance) 3 floating licenses
(29,700 vs 55,000 per year) because a programmer won't be using a
license 100% of the time. This may work if you have programmers spread
over multiple shifts (or timezones). For a smaller business, at a single
location where everybody works "first shift" (like where I work), this
stinks (IMO).
