The only issue I have is that WSA does not appear to allow you to say
'ALL MEMBERS' anywhere so to download entire PDS, you have to select
each member. Am I missing a hidden command?

Yes, you can enter 'S *' on the 3.7.2 command line to download every member in a list. I think you can also enter 'S ABC*' (etc) to download specific member patterns, but I'm not so sure about that as I don't actually use 3.7.2.

The reason I don't use 3.7.2 is because I use SimpList instead. It gives me many more options than 3.7.2, including (for example):

- In one go I can transfer multiple files based on any number of patterns; e.g. all members that begin with 'A', all members that end with 'X', and all members that have the letter 'C' somewhere in the middle.

- I can transfer files based on their contents; e.g. only download members that contain the string 'Employee Number' anywhere in the member, and the word 'Smith' somewhere between columns 40 and 57.

- I can transfer files that have certain ISPF statistics; e.g. only transfer files that were changed on, before, after, or between, certain dates.

- I can transfer files from whichever member list I happen to be in (i.e. I don't have to go to ISPF option 3.7.2 and type in a data set name).

- I can transfer files to or from the mainframe by selecting them from a mainframe list (i.e. a list of members) or by selecting them from a workstation list (i.e. a list of workstation files displayed on the mainframe). See the two screen images on the following web page: http://www.mackinney.com/products/SIM/simplistSCR16.htm

- I can select files for transfer without having to worry about whether I have a workstation connection or not. If I don't have one, SimpList will automatically connect or prompt me to connect, depending on which settings I've selected. See the fourth input field on the screen image shown on the following web page: http://www.mackinney.com/products/SIM/simplistSCR15.htm

- I can rename files during the transfer process by entering new names in the Rename column next to each member selected for transfer.

- I can select files without having to keep changing the Binary/Text settting (which I often forget to change when dealing with other products). So, I never have to worry about selecting the wrong transfer mode. See the two screen images on the following web page: http://www.mackinney.com/products/SIM/simplistSCR17.htm

The list goes on and on, but this gives you some idea. Of course, file transfer is only one of the WSA options that SimpList uses, and the WSA itself is only a very tiny part of what SimpList is all about.
