I guess I can understand IBM's reluctance to disclose the numbers. (I don't agree but IBM makes the rules).

There are pro's and con's and only IBM (IMO) can decide to disclose the real numbers. My guess however is that the marketing people do not want it to be known, especially if the number is shrinking.

I would think it would be an interesting project for SHARE (and its European and south east Asia counterparts to come up with numbers. Only then it might nudge IBM to disclose the true numbers.
