The US Veterans Administration Data Processing Center in Austin, Texas had *at least* three -- maybe at one point five -- of these beasts (one on a 360/40, two on a 360/65, maybe two more at one point on a 360/50)..

the university i was at had 2321 attached to 360/67 (that ran as 360/65 most of the time). The univ. library had gotten an ONR grant to work on stuff like online library card catalog. the project also got selected to be beta-test site for cics. i remember getting to shoot some early cics bugs ... including a bdam open bug (site where cics had been developed appeared to have been using bdam in very specific way ... and the library chose to use different set of bdam features).

the sounds of 2321 at boot/ipl was something like whirl, kerchunk, kerchunk, whirl, .... as it went thru reading volsers.

remember that in the BBCCHHR DASD addressing ... the "BB" were for the 2321 bin number.
