Recently I ran the Disaster Recovery restores using FDR DRP. The parameters
used follow:
RESTORE TYPE=DRP,CONFMESS=NO,MAXTAPES=12,COPY=2,
CPYVOLID=YES,VOLRESET=YES,SMSPROT=NONE
SELECT VOL=HSMBC1,NVOL=SG70E7,GEN=CURRENT,CYCLE=00
SELECT VOL=HSMBC2,NVOL=SG70E8,GEN=CURRENT,CYCLE=00
SELECT VOL=HSMJRL,NVOL=SG70E9,GEN=CURRENT,CYCLE=00
SELECT VOL=HSMMCD,NVOL=SG7800,GEN=CURRENT,CYCLE=00
plus some 400 additional select statements follow.
Initially there were 12 tapes spinning concurrently but this number gradually
reduced to 1 which when that tape had restored its' last volume, a new set of
12 tapes were mounted. I watched this process repeat several times during the
course of the night.
Anyone have any idea how or if I can keep 12 tasks running concurrently?
I posed this question to Innovation Tech Support some time ago, but got no
response.
Given the time that I'm losing while FDR plods along with 2 then 1 tape tasks
running, I might be better off using DFDSS.
