Ted, Are you possibly thinking of NPF, the network print facility? We use it to support a couple virtual printers out of IDMS. I found a manual talking about it in the IBM Communications Server bookshelf. It is manual SC31-8833-00 and is called IP network print facility. I think it has been functionally stabilized so IBM can sell IP-Printway.

The products were not very expensive, THEN. We just got a ridiculous price quote from LRS, through our out-sourcer, who was suppposed to have a deal/discount for us. So, we are looking at alternatives: 1. I have heard (but not read) that JES2 (at least) gets along better as of 1.7 (or is it 1.8?). 2. When does CICS cooperate? 3. I have looked through the 4-volume RedBook Collection 'Communications Server for z/OS V1R7 TCP/IP Implementation' and have found very little reference to JES. 4. Doesn't IBM have a (little liked) replacement called NTP Print (or something like that)? 5. Does anybody know where this stuff is documented? - -teD 300,000 Kilometres per Second Not only is it a good idea!
