Thanks! The OPT(4) is something I should have remembered but it was
pretty late. I did consider PARALLEL but it's not "automagical" and I
didn't want to build JCL and control statements customized to one dump
by hand. I think you are right that if I had used FDR/DSF there would
have been some concurrent activity without special setup and something I
may consider in the future. I was hoping there was a way to get DFDSS
to do more concurrent activity without specifying multiple tasks
manually.

The example shown is for full volume dumps. You probably could have
rigged something for your logical dump but I have to admit it would be
easier to do using FDR.
