Of course you are assuming that the phone/cable companies will have 
broadband access to every one also. Those of us that live in the sticks are 
still using dial up. I've also tried wireless cards from sprint and 
verizon, they drop down into the very low end of the 1xrt range, dial up is 
faster. I live 5 miles outside of suburbs around Kansas City. the sprint CO 
box, with it's fiber trunk, is less than 1/4 mile from my house, but no DSL 
for at least another year.
