Interestingly, the International DB2 Users Group (IDUG) publishes a
"Justification Toolkit" for just this kind of question.

Subject
Justifying SHARE (was SHARE in Baltimore, August 13-18, 2006)

I received the following message off-list (edited to maintain

Many IBM-MAIN list participants value SHARE and have justified attending
frequently or occasionally.

Perhaps a few of those folks would post a short description of their
justification technique for SHARE attendance/participation. Such a list
of
suggestions might help many people figure out how to make a business case
for SHARE attendance.

THANKS!

Brian
