Ah! E Unibus plurum. Still hardware rather than software, and still

Are you sure that you're not thinking of the PDP-6/PDP-10? The PDP-11
came out later. In fact, I'm sure that many of the PDP-8 applications
would have been on the PDP-11 had it been available.
