Just think about it, we used to run multiple global weather models in the 6M
of real memory that maxed out the 470/V6. You can't boot windows in that
small amount of real memory.

When I worked at the Goddard Institute, they had just upgraded to a 7094 mod II, with a whopping 32K (36 bit word) memory. Shortly before I left, they had gotten a 360/65, and build a new computer room for it. It's amazing just how much work we got out of these limited machines.
