Right, take the lowest common denominator and make it the standard for
the best OS, instead of the other way around. "z/OS is too difficult to
maintain" , but when there is a problem you know exactly what has been
applied and how you can remove it.

No, there is a interest in trying to teach the dinos to tap dance. At
least around here, the interest seems to be "how to manage the mainframe
as if it were just a Windows server". Luckily, our new CIO has a wider
range of experience (iSeries, pSeries) and understands better that "one
method" does not "fit all situations".
