Mike, We believe that what you describe is the correct information. REINIT
should remove the intercepts.
We will be updating the redbook to include more detailed information on
how to do this with the different releases. Right now we have multiple
conversions in progress using IBM conversion specialists and they
confirmed this for me.

There is also a Filesafe USERMOD that you should consider. Older releases
of TLMS by default allowed tape use if TLMS was stopped unless a USERMOD
was applied. With 5.5 I believe this has changed a bit. Best to test what
you plan to do and be sure. If you have any feedback about this or the
conversion in general do please send me an email so we can improve
documentation for people like you.

One final thing, we are working on a minor change to EDGCDYNM which may be
relevent to you; it completes the correct handling of 4 digit UCBs. To
obtain the update, please call IBM Support Center or raise an ETR and ask
for the latest maintenance to EDGCDYNM from the level 3 support.
