Ed, that may have been what you meant, but it is not what you
wrote, and that is when I commented and this circular conversation
started.  You wrote:

Semantics, poor choice of words, whatever.  If you had said "IBM has
had an undocumented way of tracking this since..." with out using the 
S word,I wouldn't have felt any need to comment.
