Hi Ginnie,

I would discourage you from going to much further on your own, zapping
anything or using any FIX utilities!
Consider to open a PMR with IBM describe carefully what you have done
and the results.  Let Level-2 give you some guidance.
DFSMS let you get into this mess and they should be able to help get you
out.
The approach I would take is this is defect.  Even if they decide
nothing you have done or run into deserves an APAR you will 
get a lot more mileage that way than through Q&A.

Export disconnect does not work..  the message says catalog not
available .. since it isnt really a catalog .. I have tried noscr purge,
force .. you name it .. also the Delete dataset with vvr for the acutal
dataset fails as well ..
