Oh man! Once again I start to wonder if I am zNextGen because I have never seen a card reader. I did at least get to play on 3270 dumb terminal for several years before the PC took hold.
I swear if I ever hear another joke about 3330 devices I just might start sucking my thumb! All in jest of course. It is great that we have members on the list with this much knowledge about the past development of the OS. I cringe to think how things will look in the next ten years as the folks with all the experience decide to go sailing around the world. Just in case you are serious: my S/360 green card (undated) shows upper and lower EBCDIC values. But early 3270s only supported upper case, and I vaguely remember that 026 keypunches didn't have lower case either (I think that came with the 029 keypunch).
