no they have not, you still need to run datacom to replace two ca11 files,
one pds, and one vsam.
Instead of saying here, make this one a pdse, and make this one an extended
vsam format vsam,
(and then maybe actually having c/a fix their world famous jehf lockout
problem), c/a in it's infinite wisdom, said here
load a whole new database, with 50+ files to replace TWO for no particular
reason.
extended format vsam and pdse are "new" concepts I guess, let's see pdse has
only been available since DFP 3.2,
yup, brand new I guess.
Oh, and by the way, if you're in a sysplex and actually need to shutdown the
lpar and move datacom somewhere else, well, good luck to you. Apparently the
concept of a "mufplex" / sysplex is foreign to c/a in datacom/ad. I am told
they are supposed to fix this particular issue "soon". They never should
have forced ca11 v3 on people without fixing that particular issue at g/a.
datacom, the database of choice for large corporations like enron and
worldcom.

I have pretty much the same opinion as you. I still can't believe that CA
insist that they run their DB. My information might be old so have they
relaxed that requirement?
