I don't need to keep the old z/OS 1.4 system so I think that it is simplest/quickest to do the first IPL in production with the new z/OS 1.7 system with JES2 using the old z/OS 1.4 spool. No need to do the spool offload/reload because I don't have to change the size of the spool.
