You still could be fine. But, what the heck, if it were me, I'd probably just put up another volume the way I wanted it to be and move all datasets off the one with the small VVDS (and re-init the first volume). Yes, I can be anal at times. <grin> I suppose an ounce of problem prevention is easier than a pound of problem resolution.
