Yes it will but there was a bug that we ran into 10 years ago in it.
My Memory is sketchy but IIRC it would issue the switch and at
system shutdown would abend because comm task would not accept the
switch command. Yes I know but it hit the operator almost every
weekend and I would catch it (they never did) . This version of
SMFDUMP (IPO supplied?) was fixed by IBM, but if I recall correctly
you had to really dig to find it. I guess the trick was if you
recompiled it at each IPO you would pick up the correct one.
Unfortunately not everyone did this.
